The 2026–27 CSHL RPI V3 rankings and division placements are now posted for 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U. Heads of Programs, coaches and team managers should review their teams’ placements as we prepare for regular-season scheduling.

How the RPI Works

Completed preseason game scores are combined and provided to Neil Lodin of My Hockey Rankings and Joe Walkush. Each partner returns separate ratings. Both ratings are scaled to 0–20 within each age group, and the CSHL RPI is their equal average. This method applies to all four age groups.

V1 provided initial rankings without division assignments. V2 introduced preliminary division breakdowns, followed by the V2.5 correction. V3 provides the final preseason rankings and division placements reviewed by the CSHL Board and age representatives.

The RPI page includes both partners’ ranking tables and the red/green head-to-head comparisons. Earlier releases remain available for reference.

Division Placement Petitions Are Open

Petitions must be submitted by the Head of Program. To submit through the site, open the Program Portal, find the team under Overview → Your Teams, and select the red Petition Division Placement button. Choose the requested move and explain the reason for the request.

Petitions may also be emailed to the appropriate Age Division Representative, Jim Smith, League Secretary, and Nick Komma. Include the team number, age group, current division, requested division and supporting explanation.

Filing a petition does not change a team’s current division. The Board and age representatives will review the requests together.
