Why was V2.5 issued?

Following the publication of V2, Joe Walkush identified a data-preparation error in his Week 2 ranking return and supplied corrected ratings. CSHL recalculated the combined RPI using Joe’s corrected ratings and Neil Lodin’s unchanged V2 ratings, then reviewed and updated the preliminary division breakdowns.

Game results, wins, losses, ties and descriptive scoring statistics have not changed. The calculation method remains the same: both partners’ ratings are scaled from 0–20 within each age group and averaged equally.

Compare V2.0 and V2.5

Across 153 teams, the update includes 86 rank changes and 19 preliminary division changes.

Select “V2.0 vs V2.5 changes” on the RPI page to compare each team’s:

  • Original V2.0 rank and corrected V2.5 rank.
  • Movement up, down or unchanged within its age group.
  • Original and updated preliminary division placement.
  • Original and updated RPI values.

Sort any comparison column or filter to show only teams whose rank or division changed. Both partners’ raw ranking tables and the red/green head-to-head comparison remain available.

What comes next?

V2.5 division placements remain preliminary. V3 is scheduled for October 25 and will include final rankings with division placement.

Petitions will be accepted from Heads of Programs only, after RPI V3 has been posted.

Thank you to Joe for identifying and correcting the issue, and to Joe and Neil for their continued work on the rankings. Please share the updated RPI page with your coaches, team managers and families.
