October 17, 2011. Preseason RPI V2 is now Posted.
October 9, 2011. Preseason Relative Power Index (RPI) Version 1 Now Posted. On menu tab on left, click on Preseason Data/2011 Preseason/2011 RPI V1.
This year we are posting the RPI on the following schedule: V1 Monday, Oct 10 (now posted) V2 Monday, Oct 17 V3 Monday, Oct 24. Last day of preseason is Sunday, Oct 23, so this is final version.
We post breakdown between levels (eg AA, A1, A2, A3, B) in V2 and V3. The RPI scores are run through a program that minimizes the spreads within all the levels in a division.
RPI V1 is based on 204 games with scores posted out of 536 scheduled games, close to 40%.
At the time I exported the game results, 224 games had been played, with only 204 scores uploaded, so V1 doesn't include about 10% of the games played! Please post the scores as soon as possible, especially on Sunday nights. I will export the data around 7pm on Sunday nights.
If anyone wants the raw game data, send me an email at timosh1313@yahoo.com and I'd be happy to forward it to you. It is in a .csv (comma separated values) file format and is about 50kb.
If anyone has questions, comments, criticisms, ideas, please post them here and we'll respond as soon as we can.
